Tell President Obama to uphold his promise of allowing science to dictate policy!

The Environmental Protection Agency has promised the release of new coal ash regulations in early 2010, but the Obama Administration and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) have come under fire from industry lobbyists and coal friendly legislators to weaken the coal ash regulations prior to release for public comment. At issue, is the classification of coal ash as “Hazardous” waste and the establishment of national disposal standards to protect water supplies and communities from toxic coal ash.

We need thousands of emails and phone calls to the White House, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), the US EPA and Congressional Offices telling them coal ash is hazardous and federal regulations are immediately necessary. There is no more time for delay!  The coming weeks are critical for you to weigh in as the EPA makes this monumental decision.  Please call or email the White House, OMB, EPA, and your KY Senators and Representatives and simply say:

"I support classification of coal ash as a hazardous waste!"
