First Annual Elkhorn Creek Cleanup – September 17
ATTN: Thankyou to all of our wonderful volunteers! Both legs of this weekends cleanup have been filled, we can’t wait to see you all on the creek!
Kentucky Waterways Alliance is proud to announce that we will be partnering with the fine folks of Canoe Kentucky and The Explore Kentucky Initiative this fall for our First Annual Elkhorn Creek Cleanup!
Participants will have the opportunity to float & clean up their choice of two sections of beautiful Elkhorn Creek. We will meet at Canoe Kentucky’s Peaks Mill Shop at 9:00am ET. One group will board a shuttle for the Knights Bridge put-in and float 6 miles back to Canoe Kentucky. The second group will leave from the Canoe Kentucky shop and clean up the 6 miles downstream to US 127. We will have multiple land based public creek access sites available as well for anyone who would rather stay dry.
This event is free, and open to anyone who would like to take part. If you can paddle a canoe we’d love to see you there! Registered participants will receive a free canoe rental for the day, shuttle service to and from their chosen float, a provided lunch from Staxx BBQ, and a KWA water bottle.
Rental canoe space is limited to the first 40 participants, so secure your boat today! We can provide additional shuttle services for those who wish to bring your own boat.
